Sparkly Bows

Some people tend to over-use the word "cute". Admittedly at times we can fall into that category, but let's be honest... these punchy purple wedding shoes topped with sparkly bows are just stinkin' cute! Don't you agree?!

{via}

They might not be versatile, but they sure are glamourous and fun! Happy shoesday, gals!

Put a bow on it!

It wasn't always this way, but in the last few years we've developed a fascination with bow ties. This isn't a look that just any dude can pull off, no, this takes boldness, sophistication... and possibly even a dash of hipster...? Being a Seattle native {let's be honest} the majority of bow ties we see being sported as of late are of the hipster variety. Well, great news for preps, hipsters and grinning grooms alike, we've found Forage, that has our absolute favorite selection of such ties... and we couldn't resist sharing!!

Among many other "finds" at the National Stationery Show, we keep thinking about their clever display and playful fabrics. We just can't get enough! Wouldn't these be adorable on a group of groomsmen?!

Featured: Stephanie & Marcos

Today we're excited to highlight the wedding of our past clients that was recently featured on Style Me Pretty!! Stephanie & Marcos had a stunning wedding for several reasons- first being that they are just a precious couple! Also, their chic color palette of cool grey & bright yellow, laced with crisp white could not have been more stunning... and we could not have pictured a more perfect planner for this occasion than the brilliant Sarah True of True EventSaltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington, Connecticut is a stunning backdrop but Hana Floral Design, who worked their magic with lots of lush yellow florals, paired with beautiful threads {the wedding party was decked out in Jcrew's finest and the bride donned an Amsale gown} made sure that there were beautiful details in every corner. A big thank you & hats off to Anna Sawin Photography for capturing this gorgeous affair!

Lucia K. giveaway!

Hi! Kirsty from Lucia K. Jewelry here, and so excited to be guest posting on Pearls for Paper. We've been asked for quite a while now if Lucia K. does monogrammed jewelry. The answer has always been no, because I just couldn't get it how I wanted it to be, until now!

So why are we so excited about this collection? For a few reasons. Each piece is made of hand hammered sterling silver, so each piece is unique and original, just like each person's life and story. I chose a version of american typewriter font since I'm a sucker for this classic- it's slightly formal but not fussy. Also the font is small, which to me is more personal and so is the charm. This allows each piece to be worn alone or in layers with other statement pieces. I also added a semi-precious stone - either a birth stone or choose your favorite, for color and to finish the piece.

My goal was to create a timeless yet chic piece of jewelry that could commemorate or celebrate a life.... symbolize a moment in time, or a wish you wear... to remind you of the story you tell as a mother, daughter, sister, best friend, soul mate, survivor...

To celebrate the launch of this collection, we are so excited to partner with the ladies at Paper Moss, to offer a giveaway. One reader will win a personalized monogrammed bracelet or necklace of their choice.

Pretty paper wedding bouquets

There's no denying that there's something special & sweet about having a bouquet of fresh blooms to accompany you down the aisle, but sadly when allergies get in the way, options are limited. I've talked with several brides who are facing the dilemma of finding a chic alternative either for a bridesmaid, their groom or for their own bouquet. We stumbled upon these gorgeous handmade bouquets from BHLDN and are in love with this alternative idea!  Who would have thought that colored tissue and crepe paper, card stock, floral tape and wire could make such beautiful florals?!

The 1st Anniversary

Tradition points to a paper related gift for a 1-year wedding anniversary... well, needless to say for us paper lovers, this is great news! Paper is said to symbolize strength as well as delicate nature of a one-year old marriage. Whether you're in to the symbolism or following that particular tradition, we've fallen for this sentimental anniversary gift ( or Valentines Day present... hint, hint!) from Suzy Shoppe.

{via}

They will incorporate a love letter, wedding vows or sentimental song lyrics to make this piece of art an expression of the couple. And if you're in wedding planning mode, fear not because Suzy Shoppe also offers an adorable option for a guest "book"!

With this ring

We fell in love with Paloma's Nest long ago... everything about their delicate wedding keepsakes makes us feel all sappy and sentimental! Seriously, have you visited their site?! Obviously we love anything and everything that is customizable and these hand crafted ring bearer bowls are the perfect touch to help that little man deliver your rings.

And when the wedding is over, the bowl can be displayed or can even be used to hold your ring if you ever need to take it off. The gold leaf rimmed ones {also available in silver} are just stunning too and add an elegant splash of color...

Will you {or did you} have a ring bearer at your wedding? How are they delivering those rings?

Ruffles + Roses

Happy Monday! With Fall on the way, we're desperately thinking of ways to be warm and cuddly through the chilly weather. Over the weekend, when we stumbled across these super cute rose- sweater pillows from Angella Eisman Design, it was love at first sight! How fun would these be to accompany your couch or adorn your bed.... and what a lovely gift idea too?!

Dare we try to D.I.Y these? I suppose some things are better left to professionals... :)

A little 1920s inspiration

Monday, Monday! We made it through the hurricane, but with all of the excitement & preparation for the extreme elements we didn't mention the AWESOMENESS that took place on Friday. The ladies at Magnolia Pair put together a dream team of vendors to bring to life a vision & inspiration for a romantic 1920s wedding. When they asked Paper Moss to design the stationery & signage for this inspiration shoot, we jumped, twirled and hollered at the opportunity to join in the fun! Here's a little peek at what they dreamt up...

And we loved creating these cute signs to highlight the prohibition era cocktails!

... Be sure to visit Magnolia Pair's blog for the real deal!

Meet Lucia K.

Happy Friday, darlings! Today you are in for a treat! Our friends from Lucia K. Jewelry stopped by to share some of their most beautiful creations with us. We adore perusing their site for fun hostess gift ideas or bridesmaids accessories.

Similar to us at Paper Moss, they do {AH-mazing} custom work for brides too! Check out this GORGEOUS necklace that was designed for one bride!

After seeing so many beautiful designs, we couldn't resist asking Kirsty Papdopulos, the woman behind Lucia K. a few questions about her company.

1. When did you start making jewelry?

I've been making jewelry for myself and friends and family for as long as I can remember. Those close to me have always encouraged me to take it a step further and start a business. It wasn't until about a year and a half ago -I was 8 months pregnant with my second child and had stopped working my "day job" and a jewelry buyer just happened to ask me about a necklace I was wearing that I had made, that is when it all came together and Lucia K was born.

2. What inspires your designs?

Inspiration comes from lots of places for me.  I definitely love to take cues from vintage pieces, and not necessarily jewelry. For instance, in the house I grew up, my parents had this crazy macramé side table, that hung from the ceiling, the beaded macramé influenced my crystal and silk necklaces in the Vivian lines and Nora lines.

I also have this amazing fabric and trim store near my house that I often just wander through, some of the stuff I happen upon there is incredible, the detail that used to go into textiles, definitely gets my creativity flowing. I keep my ultimate goal in mind- to help a woman elevate her style and make her feel more confident. She needs to feel great when she puts a piece of Lucia K. jewelry on!

3. Where do you find the materials that you use?

I definitely need to touch and feel and hold my materials, so I am very hands-on with what I decide to use. Something about an items weight or sheen, really play into how it works in a piece. With prices of metal going up, its difficult to keep costs down and still present a quality product. Some vendors that I return to time and again are Midori Ribbon, love their dupioni silk and grosgrain ribbons, their quality can't be matched, also Thai silver from the Hill tribe, Czech and Swarovski Crystals.

4. What are currently your favorite pieces?

The piece I am wearing most often - Ginger Copper Bib Necklace, the length works so well with so many necklines, the color is great for those who aren't quite ready for gold but want to branch out from silver, and it gets attention! Currently my favorite earrings are the Juliette Aquamarine Earrings or the Patricia Earrings- a little rocker mixed with freshwater pearls is a great combo. I'm loving big earrings right now, my fall line will be full of them!

And here are a few more of their beautiful pieces... check out the website for the full scoop!

Thank you so much to the lovely ladies at Lucia K. Jewelry for sharing some inspiration with us!

Getting fancy with feathers

Well, it's no secret that feathers are a huge trend for wedding gowns these days and we are LOVING it! What a fun and sassy way to add texture and dimension while keeping the look soft. This gown from the Allure Couture Collection is one of many gowns that got us hooked. undefinedHowever, if investing in a wedding dress covered in feathers is a little too extreme and you still want to incorporate feathers, check out these options from BHLDN. We're especially loving the feather bolero! It's totally extravagant, but if you can't rock it on your wedding day, then when can you?!

Or if you're feeling crafty, try your hand at this super cute Feather Boutonnière D.I.Y. that we found on Ruffled! Who would have thought that adding feathers could be so fun!

Sara & Stephen: She said yes

I {Anna} am super excited about today's post because we get to share an engagement shoot of none other than my brother and his lady. Stephen & Sara have been inseparable since October of 2009. Even as the protective little sister, I can honestly say that from the moment I met Sara, it was easy to see they were meant for each other. Really, I'm not sure who else could put up with his teasing and antics... and even dish it back to him the way she does! These two are disgustingly in love {little sister's perspective} and are truly best friends. The extraordinary Seattle based photographer, Ryan Flynn captured their adventurous and silly personalities to the tee. To any brides in the Pacific Northwest {he travels worldwide, too} that are looking for a photographer, be sure and check out Ryan Flynn Photography- not only does he take incredible photos, but he is a joy to work with!! Thanks to Ryan for sharing this e-session:

And my personal favorite... :)

A snowy Colorado wedding: Alison & David

Even in the midst of a scorching summer we mustn't forget those who are planning a winter wedding. This seemed like the perfect time to share Alison and David's stunning wedding that took place in Durango, Colorado. Their day was filled to the brim with fun, romance, sentimental details... and laced with rustic goodness. Josh Durias Photography {based in Washington state} did an incredible job at capturing the love these two share!!
Ali and David decided to make a Chuppa to symbolize God being over their union and the sides being open to represent community entering in both to their home and their lives as a married couple. What a beautiful symbol and the one they constructed was a perfect compliment to the rest of their decor!
Venue: The Glacier Club in Durango, Colorado

Bridesmaid's accessories: Made by the bride's sister

Brighten up

After being in 9 weddings, we're always on the search for cute bridesmaids dresses- it's now engrained in us. Whether bridesmaid-to-be or bride-to-be, it's always good to know your options. We're in L.O.V.E. with these new pops of color by Alfred Sung and just had to share! They would make such fun party dresses too!

Which one is your favorite? Some of them even come if white if you're on the lookout for a

reception or getaway dress...

A Titanic inspired wedding

Few things brighten our day as much as hearing that our paper has been featured in a blog {or magazine} that we absolutely adore. It's a moment of sheer childish giddiness and we want to put it on the metaphorical refrigerator for all to see!! Apparently, this blog is our refrigerator... It was such a joy working with some of our favorite DC based vendors on this Titanic inspired shoot that was recently featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs. Hop over and see the rest of this vintage gorgeousness! :)
