Happy Friday

It's about time Friday rolled around again! These days my weekends are filled with wedding errands, baby shower planning & packing to move into my new apartment that I'll eventually share with my man once we're married. Needless to say, as much as I love the weekdays filled with beautiful paper and the sweetest clients EVER ... I will treasure these next 2 days in a very special way. ;) So here's to weekend excitement!!

What do you have up your sleeves for the weekend?

Make a statement

For brides that are looking to add some character to a simple, classic dress, we're loving the idea of accessorizing with a fabulous statement necklace. There are so many beautiful options out there and not only are they reasonably priced, but you can wear them again!! I'm going with a statement necklace for my big day and along the way on my search, I fell in love with these:

1- Aldo

2- Tildon

3- JCrew

4- Kendra Scott

5- Natasha Couture

6- Kate Spade

As a hint, the one I chose is not on here! ;)

A little tapas soirée

Over the weekend, my Boston based bridesmaids threw me a bridal shower at this fabulous tapas bar in the South End. Now can I just say for a second that I have the BEST friends?! The day was beyond special- every detail- and the food was delicious. This was my third time setting foot in a tapas restaurant within 2 weeks and I realized how much I truly LOVE them. So needless to say, I hit up Pinterest for some recipes that I'm dying to try on my own and I couldn't resist sharing with you all!! Please let me know if you give one a go- or if you have any other recipes that I can't live without.

Steamed Clams in Garlic-Saffron Broth

Croquettes with Serrano Ham and Manchego Cheese

Pork Empanadas with Thyme

Fresh guest book ideas

Today we're taking a break from weekend inspiration to let you in on some recent research I've been conducting. As you may know, my man and I are in the peek of wedding planning (about a month away!!!!) and so we're checking off lots of things on the grand to-do list. One thing that I've been mulling over is a creative approach to a guest book. While I'm not against the often seen book of photos from an e-session, that option is not on the table for us since we've had such a whirlwind, short engagement... and didn't have time for the traditional photo shoot. So here are some fun, unique ideas if you're in the same boat, or if you're just craving something different:

Stack of coasters:

How cute would these be displayed in stacks and tied together with a ribbon?!

{via}

Plates:

Have your guests sign china to display in your home... on the wall, on a hutch or otherwise!

{via}

Your new initial:

You're getting a new last name so why not embrace it with pride?! There are many shops on Etsy that you can order letters on- you can even choose the size and color!

{via}

Travel lovers:

Have guests sign a globe to display in your home. They can even write a little note about where they think you should visit!

{via}

Puzzled:

I love this idea of having guests sign the back of puzzle pieces, though the picture would either have to be massive or the pieces would have to be pretty little. Either way, it's such a fun idea!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Citrus stilettos

Can you believe that we're already in the last few weeks of etiquette approved wearing of white pants?! Though I believe that the whole "Memorial Day to Labor Day" rule of thumb is fading exponentially each year, I still feel a tinge of guilt when I go outside the bounds. Well in those last few weeks, let's go out with a statement...

Pairing white skinnies with some bright stilettos is a look we're currently in LOVE with. What do you think?

Color crush: fuchsia + gold

Hi friends! I hope you had a lovely weekend!! Emily and I had a fabulous time with the ladies celebrating my bachelorette weekend at the Cape. There's nothing quite like good girl time. :) This week, we're kicking things off this this rich, feminine color combo that has me swooning. I love how elegant and feminine the contrast of fuchsia and shades of gold can be, especially that rose gold!! What do you think? Would you ever have these as your wedding colors?

Weekend Inspiration

Another week gone by and MAN, that one flew!! I'm especially excited for this weekend where I'll be spending the next few days relaxing on the Cape with some of my closest Boston based lady friends!! Such a fabulous way to celebrate my "farewell to single status". While much of the weekend is a surprise, I've been told we'll be doing some of the following... feel free to jump on board and get inspired by these celebratory ideas :)

'don those sun hats!

You better believe that feet will be in the sand and the sun will be kissing our bodies! That's no reason to get carried away however, so like any responsible bride-to-be, I'll be toting sunscreen and a floppy hat. While I'm in desperate need of a tan, there's no need for burning or sunspots!

Enjoy an icy treat

One of my sweet bridesmaids has been busy perfecting recipes for boozy popsicles. Yea, she's pretty awesome :) A fun way to cool down and simultaneously enjoy some of our favorite summer cocktail flavors! Don't these Blood Orange Margarita pops look incredible?! Yum!

Bust out a beach ball

Judge all you want, but this looks SO FUN and summer will be over before we know it. Yes, things are going to get silly this weekend and if all goes according to plan, our faces will hurt from laughing. That is the best feeling!!!

Happy weekending!!

Pretty Paper: Sree + Patrick

A few months back we had the joy of sharing with you Sree & Patrick's beautiful wedding that was featured on Style Me Pretty. Well, 1313 Photography did a stellar job of snapping some stationery photos for the feature, but today we're excited to show some more photos that get a little closer to the details and pretty letterpress of this beautiful invitation suite. Take a peek:

Reasons to celebrate

If you're a shoe lover, an accessory maven or an over all fashionista, you probably hit up the Nordstrom Anniversary sale that ended over the weekend. In honor of the passing of this hometown holiday {yes, Nordstrom is based in Seattle so it's quite a party every time this sale rolls around} we're highlighting some gorgeous heels that are absolutely wedding appropriate. If I hadn't already snagged my bridal shoes, you better believe I would be considering one of these pairs!!

Happy Tuesday Shoesday!

Weekend inspiration

This weekend my man is headed off on his bachelor party {number 1 of 2} so I'm especially looking forward to some long overdue girl time! While trying to distract myself from missing that hunk all weekend, this is what will be keeping me busy:

Make it pink!

Saturday night most of the ladies whose hubbys are away celebrating are getting together for an old fashioned girls night in. Yea, we're talking painting nails, watching chick flicks and of course... snacking! I figured, while we're at it making popcorn, we may as well add an extra fun touch to it and make it pink!

Make a Bauble

Back in the day when I was a little one, our girls nights consisted of craft parties. In the spirit of nostalgia, I'm kind of loving the idea of birthing something beautiful one of these evenings! This Bauble Necklace DIY from Style Me Pretty Home is just calling my name!

Get organized

Life has been so busy lately, staying organized has fallen to a bottom priority. As I'm anticipating a big move in a few weeks, I am going to take this opportunity to purge, get things sorted and perhaps even start packing? Dare I?!? Check out these super cute ideas, 101 ways to get Pretty Organized if you're in need of a summer cleaning too!

Happy weekending!

Market style

Hitting up the farmers market is sadly a rarity in our busy schedules these days, though it's something I miss dearly! There is something so peaceful about perusing the different booths, looking at colorful fresh fruits and veggies displayed under the sun... ah! So fun! Today's purseday is from West Elm of all places, but we're just adoring these bags that are clever and cute for a run to the market!

It's a two-fer!

I'm a huge fan of scoring a good deal, especially when it comes to bridesmaids or wedding-related things. When I heard about Durga-Kali and their reversible bridesmaids dresses, I just about fell over. Imagine the possibility of getting to flip your dress inside out and get another LBD out of the deal!

With lots of styles and colors to choose from, I'm dying to know if this is too good to be true. Has anyone tried one yet?! For now, I stand in awe of this brilliant invention.

Color Crush: pink + gold + peach

I'm totally digging soft color palettes right now and truth be told, it still baffles me that I would be the one incorporating the color blush into my wedding. Being the only girl with 2 older brothers, I desperately tried to fight the stereotype that pink should be my favorite color. I was so adamant about it that by the end of my time in elementary school, I hated the color. Oh how things have changed, my friends. I'm eager to embrace all things soft and romantic so let's kick off this week with some gorgeous warm hues- highlighting the summery palette of pink + gold + peach. Enjoy!
