The first year

Today friends, is a special day in my world. One year ago, my man and I vowed to spend our lives together, for better or worse. It's crazy how fast the time has flown by... and to think of all that has happened!! It has been quite a roller coaster of a year, but I am beyond thankful to have my best friend by my side to face all of the ups and downs that life throws at us. A couple of months ago, the idea popped into my head to recite our vows every year on our anniversary. Leading up to our wedding, we took preparing for our marriage very seriously. We wanted to spend just as much {if not more} time building a foundation for our marriage as we did planning the details of our wedding. Our vows continue to be a powerful reminder of our promise & commitment to each other and to God.

We chose to say traditional vows at our wedding, so when I came across this gorgeous print from Lindsay Letters, I was so excited!

If you want to adopt this tradition, there are many calligraphers and artists on Etsy that you can commission to customize your own words of commitment. Although I LOVED the gold foil print above, I wanted a slightly more traditional piece that included our names & wedding date, so I asked the talented Kristen Henderson, to hand letter ours!

Do you have any special anniversary traditions?

Vendor Crush: Drywell

The other day we stumbled upon the most amazing, inspiration igniting company- Drywell Art. This California based artist creates the cutest hand drawn works, inspired by something we all love- food and drink. While it was so fun to peruse their website, I wanted to share two examples, in honor of the upcoming holidays...

Adorable, aren't they?! And I'm obsessed with this cocktail tea towel- such a cute hostess gift!

Happy Friday, friends!!

This one's for you

There's just one week left until the highly anticipated holiday arrives. Yes, VALENTINES DAY! I know about 90% of you are cringing and the other 10% are rejoicing with butterflies in your stomach. This year I'm shockingly in the latter camp, solely due to being a newly wed. The previous decades of life were spent "surviving" the overly commercialized day. Regardless of where you're sitting, we want to encourage you to take this next week and show yourself some much needed love and TLC. Yep, fill yourself with positive thoughts {try to compliment yourself daily!}, soak in a foamy candlelit bath while sipping champagne and perhaps even treat yourself to something new & shiny {see #2}. Why go to all the fuss? Because you're worth it!!! Obviously. :)

Now get to it… and have a lovely weekend! xoxo

For Him: A Gift Guide

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Another Monday in December, another gift guide here! This one was definitely discussed in the office- boys are harder to buy for! At least I think so- there just seems to be less out there, and the really cool things (like a leather flask or new wallet) are just so pricey! We have put together a little guide for the men in your life that is affordable and still something he will love. And you will too! ;)

Changing names

One of my favorite things in the WORLD is monograms. What could be more fun than personalizing something... especially when it's in honor of a new last name?! Needless to say, we at Paper Moss adore designing monograms for stationery {wedding or otherwise} but here's a round up of some of our favorite jewelry & gift pieces right now!!

Are you monogram obsessed too?! What is your favorite go to piece?

Sweet sayings from Wicked Paper

After a long and beautifully busy week, sometimes all we need are some motivational words to lead us into the weekend. Perfect opportunity to share our latest Etsy find? ABSOLUTELY!!! We're digging these bright & sunny posters from Atlanta based, Wicked Paper Company. Since it would be silly to post them all, here are a few that will give you an idea of the cuteness that awaits...

Goodness! What is better than funky typography paired with sweet sayings?? Might be needing one of these for the office... but there are so many cute ones to choose from!!! :)

Last week for Wedding Wednesday, we shared some fun & unique gift ideas for the dudes. This week, we're digging into the fun stuff and are excited to share some picks for the ladies!! On the contrary, if you're looking for something sweet, sentimental and of the pampering nature, check these out:

{2} Sofia Coppola Champagne- pair with chocolate, candles or jewelry

{3} Plum Pretty Sugar robe

{4} Custom Stationery- super affordable & easy from Paper Source

Customizable clutches

Since we focused on groomsmen gifts yesterday, it's only fair for today's purseday pick to be fitting for a chic bridesmaid gift. We're completely swooning over these playfully patterned clutches by Ila Handbags. Their spring/ summer line is full of fun prints like these...

{via}

Oh, but the best part about these little beauties? They offer the option of making completely custom ones! Whether you want to use a fabric with your wedding colors, incorporate a family heirloom or repurpose a favorite blouse or skirt in the form of a handbag- you call the shots. Such a fun idea, right?!

Happy Purseday!

Groomsmen gifting

Guys can be next to impossible to shop for... case and point, I'm currently shopping for my brother's birthday gift and it's TORTURE! What does this have to do with Wedding Wednesday? Well, if you take the challenge of shopping for one man and multiply it by 5-9, you may be searching for the perfect groomsmen gift. Ugh! Well, lately we've been stumbling upon some cute and clever little gift ideas {some of which can be used or worn at the wedding} and couldn't resist sharing them with you IN CASE you're in the market or know someone who is...

{1} Remain Calm Cufflinks

{2} Leather Magic Wallet

{3} Forage Ties

{4} Magnetic Collar Stays

{5} The Art of Shaving Kit

{6} Whisky Stones

Momentus NY

A lady can never have too much jewelry, right?! Well needless to say when we come across a good custom jewelry find, we just can't resist sharing! Say hello to the perfect engagement, birthday, shower or "because you're pretty freakin' fabulous" gift, by Momentus New York:

GAH! Is anyone else dying to layer these with some existing baubles? And another one we're crushing on from their shop:

Do you currently have any custom pieces that you're loving on??

Give give

In the spirit of giving and as our last Thursday Purseday of 2012, we felt compelled to share another company whose proceeds benefit a cause that we believe in. Give Give is a fair trade company that produces  fashion accessories made in Nepal. Hear more about their story here and jump on board with their mission! All proceeds go to providing workers with direct access to health care, education, and good wages.

In addition to getting a ridiculously cute bag, what more could you hope for than to empower hard working people and support people who are less fortunate than we are?! A bit pre-mature perhaps, but thinking ahead to our New Years resolutions, supporting some of our favorite non-profits will be much more of a priority. Have you started thinking about resolutions yet?

Gift ideas: Going custom

There are 10 days until Christmas and the holiday shopping madness is about to really set in. You know what we're talking about- it only gets worse with every day we get closer to Christmas. I you're stuck on what to buy that 'hard to shop for' friend or family member, our favorite route to take is to gift something personalized. Being that we're obsessed with monograms, here's a round up of some super fun & feminine ideas... but jump on these ASAP so they arrive in time for the holidays!!

1. Monogram necklace

2. iPhone case

3. Chevron pillow

4. Navy cuff

5. Jute + leather monogram tote

These are so fun for newlyweds... but if you're a bride to be, wouldn't any of these also make adorable bridal party gifts? Any reason to bring more monograms into the world!!! :)

FEED

What's better than a handbag that benefits a good cause?! In our purseday opinion, not many things. Regardless of where you stand on that question, we're absolutely loving the FEED Foundation's collection of handbags, and think that they would make a fabulous, re-usable, stylish, all around "good" holiday gift! Check out their collection of bags and other items, where a percentage of the profits go towards FEEDing underprivelaged countries and struggling cities.

{via}

There's even a bag dedicated to supporting those affected by Hurricane Sandy! The iconic FEED logo on each bag represents a movement and gets people talking. And raising awareness for a good cause is pretty stinkin' fashionable, right?!

Giving back

Have you started your holiday shopping yet?? Honestly, we've hardly scratched the surface and there is much to be done. This year however, we're trying to be extra thoughtful about the gifts that we're giving... not only to make sure our friends & fam absolutely adore them, but also to make sure that we're giving back to causes that we truly believe in, and BETTER, causes that the recipient believes in too. WIN!! So yes, the holidays are rapidly approaching, but it's not too late to order some of these fabulous items to support causes charity: water and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

{1} Large Leather Travel Case

{2} Glassy Baby

{3} Thistle & Bee Ruffle Cuff

{4} Alpaca Infinity Scarf

{5} Leather Evening Bag

Stay tuned for some more gift ideas that give back... including some last minute ones!! {not to encourage procrastination or anything...} ;)

My Chatelles

A little partial, perhaps, but we think that some of the best things come out of France. Case and point: champagne, Coco Chanel, fluffy & delicious macarons, crepes... and now our latest obsession, Chatelles. These adorably sophisticated slippers come in bright shades of canvas, treated leather- either varnished, fish-scaled or suede. It gets better! They can be customized with a monogram {obvs our favorite option}, contrasting tassels or just kept simple & solid. The kicker however, would have to be the french poetry scripted on the inner footbeds. ADORABLE.

If you're digging these house slippers as much as we are, you'll probably adore the charming little romance tale behind the birth of the company. Perhaps these will wiggle their way to our Christmas wish-list?!?

Planning ahead: Thanksgiving

Though it's still a few weeks away, we needed to share this adorable Thanksgiving serving set with you IMMEDIATELY. We just love the hand stamped labeling on each of the vintage pieces... so adorable and a "must have" for the holiday! If you're planning to travel for the holiday, wouldn't this make such a sweet hostess gift for whoever is doing the cooking?! Order now so you can make sure it arrives in time for Turkey Day!!

Happy Friday!!

Monogram that!

I'm not sure if you know, but we have this little obsession with monograms. Creating custom monograms for our clients is a complete joy and when we see them pressed into cotton paper with letterpress or foil printing, it's simply exhilarating. ;) Yes, we're easily amused, but that's ok. Anyway, we're pretty much adoring these customizable jewel toned travel wallets from Neiman Marcus and the gold lettering is just the cherry on top!

What a sweet gift idea too, don't you think?

Linking up

While we're soaking up every bit of inspiration & fun here at Bridal Market in NYC, we mustn't neglect the importance of sharing these super cute Etsy cuff link finds with you. They're absolute perfection for a rustic chic wedding, don't you agree? Now to convince the groom and his bros to go with french cuffs...

Game on!

Well hello and happy Monday!! Hope you had a lovely little weekend. While perusing wedding ideas just the other day, I stumbled upon one of my all time favorite games for barbecues, birthday parties and then realized that it's foolish to deprive a wedding of such a fun activity: Corn Hole! These custom corn hole boards are beyond adorable and would be the perfect little addition to a rehearsal dinner, wedding day festivities or even a thoughtful gift for the newlyweds.

{clockwise from top left: via, via, via}

There are a slew of customizable options, but the ones over at Style My Corntoss are pretty stinkin' cute!

Typography love

Being in the design world, we can't help that seeing the world in Pantone's has become second nature and naming fonts has become involuntary. Yes, we've recently found ourselves rattling off too much information about fonts to friends and getting those blank stares back. While this is both good and bad, we've decided to embrace that psychotic little "quirk" and gush about some super cool typography inspired items for the home that we're obsessing over...

{Type Clock from CB2}

{Script rug from Chiasso}

{House numbers from Chiasso}

{Number placemats from The Little Factory}

{Letter coasters from The Little Factory}

{Letter pillow from Jonathan Adler}

And it never gets old... :) Thanks for sharing in our nerdy love for typography!
