Something Savory

Hello pretty Paper Moss readers! Coming at you today is a treasure trove of savory goodness. I love food, as made perfectly clear by my blog

I came across this article on the knot, and it got me thinking. Why not think up some Fall menu ideas for a wedding? We love Wedding Wednesdays, and we love food, especially pretty food, so here we go! The prettiest, savoriest, yummiest looking post Wedding Wednesdays have ever seen. There is a seriously good looking menu here...

And I mean, they don't have to be just for a wedding.... ;)

Loving on loafers

In the midst of this season & the crisp weather, I can't help but to gravitate toward loafers as a go to for fall flats. This pair from C.Wonder has grabbed my attention and peeked my interest, though I'm not entirely sure that I could pull them off. What do you think: are they festive & fun or better left to the sale section?

Let's Get Cozy

1 2 3 4 5 6

Boston was cool and a bit drizzly this past weekend, so all I wanted to do was cozy up on the couch and drink tea and have cozy blankets and light Autumn scented candles and just be. Ya know? With Thanksgiving coming up in the next few weeks, I thought that I'd put together a little inspiration board of some of our favorite things this holiday season. These six things will make your table pretty, your house cozy, and your taste buds happy. ;)

We always need more Thanksgiving decor- what are some of your favorites?

Featured: Laura & Erik

From the day I first spoke with Laura and heard her and Erik's vision for their destination wedding, I knew it would be nothing short of magical. They are such a sweet & genuine couple... just as I'm giddy for their feature on Style Me Pretty, I can't help but to overflow with happiness for their marriage. Cheesy? You bet. Honest? Absolutely! :)

Take a gander at their beautiful wedding weekend, in which their closest friends & family overtook a villa in Tuscany. With so many sweet details and a jaw dropping location, it's no surprise that Italia Celebrations was behind it all... from them, we would expect nothing less!! It was such a pleasure to set the tone for Laura & Erik's wedding extravaganza!

Icing on the cake

In my humble opinion, Valentino is brilliant in the handbag department. With beautiful shapes, tasteful embellishments and colors on trend, I'm constantly fascinated, though {strangely} rarely compelled to actually add one to my wish list. Prime example would be these perfectly detailed leather beauties, that make my heart leap with the delicate ramage pattern on both sides. It sort of reminds me of icing on a cake...

Impressive, isn't it? Would you add one of these to your wish list?

World Wedding Cultures

This week's Wedding Wednesday is full of culture, and tradition, and love, and red. Yes, red. While doing some research for this post, I found that there are a lot of cultures that use red as their special day.

WEDDING 1 2 3 4

In Indian culture (specifically Hindu ceremonies), brides traditionally wear red saris, as they symbolize new life and good luck. A necklace is also given to the bride to signify her new marital status. And the groom? He gets to wear a turban with a veil of flowers.

Like Hindu weddings, traditional Chinese weddings favor the color red for their ceremonies. In China, red represents love, joy, and prosperity. Everything from the bride's dress, to the invitations, to the day-of home decor.

Mexican weddings have one of my favorite things for their receptions: a piñata! During the couple's first dance, the weddings guests form a heart around them as they dance. How sweet. :)

Like any good Russian celebration, the weddings are full of drinks and fun. After the first toast by a close friend or family member, everyone throws their champagne glasses on the ground.

It's not that Kate and William didn't do a good job of showing us what a true British wedding looks like- I just wanted to do some digging. Did you know that British bridesmaids always wear white? Also, the top layer of the wedding cake is often used for the christening of the couple's first child. So long 1 year anniversary cake, we'll see ya after we've got a bun in the oven.

Now go celebrate your new cultured self by watching a foreign film. Maybe Kung-Fu, or Bollywood, or Doctor Zhivago. (Okay, maybe not the last one...)

Sophisticated sass

If you're looking for a way to add some variation to your shoe wardrobe this fall, we HIGHLY recommend leaning toward the ever popular leopard print or if you want some extra pizzaz, you can't go wrong with some chic sparkly heels!! Either way, these are our 2 fave trends to add some sophisticated sass to any ensemble!

If these shoes seem a bit too bold for your personal style, consider a scarf, belt or hat to embrace the trend!

Pinterest Makeover!

Ta-Daaa! As if you didn't already need a reason to peruse Pinterest, I now present to you a new, and slightly more swanky, Paper Moss Pinterest profile! It has been mad fun. How many people do you know who's job is to reorganize beautiful things all day? This girl took full advantage of it. There is pretty much everything a girl would need- house and home, style, design, palettes, and (of course) wedding inspiration to your little heart's content.

Pin away!

Leftover pumpkins?

Now that Halloween is behind us, I was pondering how to make the most of some of our non-carved pumpkins. Pumpkin bread is the obvious go to, but I'm feeling a bit more adventurous these days with all my fun new kitchen gadgets! Since my favorite cold weather comfort food is pasta, I wanted to try my hand at some of the yummy pumpkin pasta recipes that have been floatin around the internet lately. If you're in the same boat, here are my top 4 that I'm itching to try... but PLEASE, pretty please share any favorites that you might have!

Wedding Wednesday: It's All In The Details

We are in the process of doing some Spring Cleaning (...I know it's freezing out right now, just go with it.) on our Pinterest profile, and it has got me thinking way more about my (someday) special day than normal. I've been obsessing over those little detailed shots- the ones that capture the little moments that you wouldn't otherwise notice. And as per usual, I made a mood board- because who doesn't love looking at pretty things?  You can see all of these shots, and more, over on our Pinterest board!

Brighten up

As I hunt for fall flats, stylish booties and warm slippers, one category of seasonal footwear that can not be ignored is... rain boots! Since I grew up in rainy Seattle, it took me decades to warm up to the idea of actually shielding myself from the elements and not just settling with getting soaked. I mean, it DOES dry! ;) Anyway, the fabulous gal behind {the adorable blog} Cupcakes & Cashmere posted these YEARS ago and you better believe they're still in style, going strong and inspiring us to aim for something brighter on a dingy day!

If you own wellies, did you opt for a classic neutral color or a bright pop?

Let's Talk Interiors.

There has been a lot of interiors talk around the office lately. With Anna B. just getting married, and Paper Moss recently relocating into a new office, we have been chatting about our dream spaces like crazy. We are loving clean lines, crisp furniture, and cozy accents. (The fact that all of those start with the letter C is completely coincidental... Pun intended.)

If you are working on an office revamp, make sure to add homey touches like a candle or a throw blanket. And don't be afraid of color. Adding pop of here or there gives the whole space a polished look! We are loving shades of blue lately. Here's to redecorating!

What projects are you working on at home?

Pretty Paper: Sabrina + Greg

One of our favorite colors for invitation suites is printing in a soft gold. This is perfect for a neutral color palate {champagne, blush, white, cream, etc} or even a palette that's still in the works! Soft gold ink allows the typography and designs to carry the formality- it's a win/win! Sabrina & Greg's invitation suite was created to set the tone for their black tie affair at Mount Hope Farm. While we're eagerly awaiting the feature of their stunning day to go live, I couldn't resist sharing their suite- complete with double thick cotton paper, a patterned backing on the invitation, a shimmery envelope liner and of course, custom postage!

Hey There! I'm Anna.

Lovely readers of Pearls for Paper! My name is Anna J {not to be confused with the other Anna} and I am so excited to introduce myself as the creative intern for Paper Moss this Fall! I have stalked Paper Moss's work from afar, oo-ing and awe-ing over the impeccable design, gorgeous color schemes, and overall lovely wedding taste and design, so I feel very blessed to be joining the team. I'll be coming around here more often, blogging some of my favorite things, Paper Moss's beautiful things, and our most recent likes and loves! I made a little mood board for us to get to know each other. ;) It has four things that I am loving for weddings right now, and four things I am loving pretty much every day.

On any given weekend you can probably find me enjoying brunch with a mimosa in hand, hanging out with friends and creating beautiful things. I have a great group of creatives around me who inspire me to put more beautiful things into the world. Flea markets are one of my favorite adventures, coffee my best friend, songwriting my most dear past time. You can also find me over at my blog, Lady & Like, featuring my adventures in cooking, fashion, and design. Can't wait to be seeing more of you.

Fall's classiest decoration

If you've been following Pearls for Paper for awhile, you'll know that I'm a sucker for all things festive. Give me any holiday and I'm ready to run with it, from food to decor to excuses for little get-togethers! Halloween is no exception, however I would rather focus on fall as a whole since I don't really get into the hype over ghosts and witches. Pumpkins, bright leaves and all things cozy really get me psyched for the season. While there is no replacement for the fun & traditional orange pumpkins, this year I have my eye on white pumpkins. You better believe I'm scoping out ideas for how to decorate these little beauties and today, I wanted to share some fun ways to incorporate them into your holiday decor...

Striking centerpiece

Carve out the center of the pumpkin and pop an old vase or even an empty can to fill with water. Find some gorgeous seasonal blooms and you're all set! I've seen this done with orange pumpkins before, but I love how chic this variety looks!

Bowl bound

Simple and elegant. I love this collection of mini-pumpkins in a bowl! If you want to add some pizzaz to them, you could even pick an accent color from your home decor and decorate each one. Pick 3 different designs for some variation but keep them all in the same color for cohesiveness.

Put in place

And of course, I saved my favorite for last. There is nothing more fun than dreaming up a holiday tablescape and I love this idea for place card holders! If you're having a fall dinner party, you should probably check out this DIY ASAP.:)
