A reflection of you

When I was planning my wedding, the one thing that made me feel over the top anxious, was feeling like the day wasn't going to be a reflection of my man and I. We're very laid back and love being silly, but we ended up having an elegant evening wedding  with a sit down dinner. Everything came together perfectly and it was nothing short of gorgeous, but it's hard to resist dreaming of what it would have been like if things were a bit more casual. I'm loving the idea of incorporating natural elements without being over the top… or "granola". What do you think?

Getting it done.

In the midst of a weekend of meetings, cleaning, hosting a baby shower, attending a birthday party and a graduation party, I somehow mustered up time to reflect on the year to come and the 13 days of 2014 that have already passed. As I dreamt of all that I hope to accomplish in the months to come, a surge of motivation came through. I'm not sure where you're at with YOUR resolutions for 2014, but I hope that you're seizing every day and getting things done! If not, don't get discouraged- re-focus and start fresh!!

Getting Our Gold On

Getting an office together is tough work! We share the space with a few other vendors, so we have been bouncing ideas off each other to get this place looking fabulous! Obviously we are really into gold. ;) We are still figuring out how to incorporate shelving and frames into the space, so naturally Pinterest has been a great source of inspiration.  This little board is definitely going in the right direction!

Happy Friday! We wanted to end the week with sharing one of our weddings that was recently featured on Style Me Pretty. Marissa & Brian brought a unique twist to their rustic wedding by incorporating folk art into their stationery. Check out photos of their suite here. While the paper perfectly set the tone for the occasion, True Event made sure that every last detail exuded antique & rustic elegance. Pair that with blooms from Petal Floral and photography by Michelle Gardella… you'll be swooning just as soon as you take a peek at the full feature!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Freezing & fabulous

Winter hasn't even officially started and we're already getting antsy over this freezing weather. Luckily we've been blessed with some not-so-freezing days in between the ones in the single digits. You better believe that we're scouting for appropriate fashions to sport on those warmer days and this is one look that in our humble opinion is completely fabulous...

And of course, if you're loving that Michael Kors satchel, you can get it here! :)

Color Crush: Sea Foam

Coming back from the Holidays is always such a fun time for vendors in the wedding industry. While you're sifting through all the emails, you find that your inbox has a few more inquiries than normal. Something about Christmas says "Marry me", and I'm very okay with that. ;)

Most of our work right now has us thinking about summer weddings, ergo, dreamy sea foam inspiration board. How I love the sea. Are any of you taking Winter vacations this year?

Liven Up Your Loafers

We saw some warmer temperatures yesterday in Boston (can I get a whoop whoop for a solid 54 degrees!?) and it got me thinking about normal shoes. If I'm being honest, any time I have to wear my ridiculous snow boots around, I dream of normal shoes. Penny loafers and skimmers and open toed sandals.... Ah. Until then, I've got my eye on some of these adorable loafers (and the like) from ASOS.

Which is your favorite?

Featured: Well Wed's No. 9

Hi friends! We hope your weekend was nothing short of FABULOUS! This week we're excited to kick things off with some pretty e-pages from one of our favorite magazines for wedding inspiration… Well Wed!!! We feel so blessed to have been featured a few times in their current issue and wanted to share it with you all! Enjoy and be inspired!!

WW9_1.jpg

There's nothing we love more than designing little icons for clients and we recently had the chance to incorporate roosters on a Save the Date postcard as well as a couple of invitation suites, shown here in #2. Don't you love all of the bright florals and antique details on these pages?!

We're still totally swooning over Kyle Marie & Tom's subtly nautical invitation suite, shown here as #2 … paired with Well Wed's playful use of stripes & a garden elegance, we're OBSESSED!

And one last little pop of yellow, grey & white letterpress in Stephanie & Marco's invitation suite:

Thanks for being excited along with us! :)

HOW TO: Freshen Up Twenty Fourteen

Let's start out 2014 feeling fresh and ready, okay? After some conversation in the office, we decided that there are a few little things that you can do at the start of the year that can make a big difference in how you feel. Some of them are simple things like cleaning your makeup brushes, and others have a bit more richness- like grabbing a good read and going away for a while. Here is a list to get you started:

1) Revamp your beauty routine. The first thing you should do is clean your makeup brushes, or get new ones entirely. Try out a new face mask. Fresh is my personal favorite. Their products are incredibly light and fresh! (shocker..)

2) Do a juice cleanse. If you don't have a juicer, your local grocery store probably has some. Whole Foods carries BluePrintJuice, the no-hassle approach to juice detoxing. They have entire packages catered to specific needs, with one for each day. Make sure to get a workout in too- I know that I need to be better about that this year! (where does the time go…)

3) Be inspired by literature. I Am Malala is a book written by Malala herself, telling her story of how she stood up to the Taliban and fought for her right to education. People are truly incredible when they put their mind to it. Make sure to be inspired by someone's courage in a book or a film this year. You could be next.

4) Write down all of your goals and dreams for the year. It helps to see it out on paper and plan accordingly. This super cute paper from Anthropologie should get you writing in no time.

5) Freshen up your living space. Grab some new sheets. I love fresh linens! West Elm has a great selection. Also, grab some new socks and undergarments. Maybe even throw in a bracelet or two. Feel renewed. (and a little pampered. ;) )

A bag fit for resolutions

Hi friends!!!!! We sure missed you while we were away but hope you're settling into the New Year very nicely! Have you had a chance to make some resolutions for the year? I'm still working on mine, but one of them at the top of my list is to be more organized… in a lot of areas. ;) I'm happily and fashionably going to start with getting a new "work bag", with which I tote my laptop, files and other work related goodies all around town. Meet the classic Tate:

What goals or resolutions are at the top of YOUR list?

Wishing you...

The happiest holidays yet! The Paper Moss ladies are fleeing Massachusetts for some celebrating, quality time with family and some much needed relaxation. We'll be back in 2014 with lots of fun & shenanigans to share :) In the meantime, here's our little holiday card for you!

Sending love and hugs to you! See you next year!!

Did you see what I did there? So puny, I know. ;) My sisters have been asking me what I am planning to wear on Christmas Eve- we always go to my Nana's for gift exchanges, yummy food, and usually a baby fix. Big families means new kids every year! For those of you who have them know what I am talking about. As for an outfit, I hadn't thought of it until they mentioned it this weekend! Here two of my favorite options so far. Many thanks to J.Crew and BaubleBar for always having a girl's back.

Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Paper Moss Playlist: Mountains

MOUNTAINS

This playlist has been in the works for a while now, slowly adding tracks here and there, and today I think it's finally ready for a debut! I'm often wanting to feel cozy while I'm in the office, so I started making a list of songs that make me feel that way, and here you have it! Mountains. I'm sure there will be names you know and names you don't, but that is the point! Sharing great music and finding new things.

What would you add to the list? We're listening!

PS- We updated our Holiday playlist too!

Go vintage glam for NYE

Lately we've been scoping out the perfect New Years Eve bag to complete a classic, yet playful look. There are so many cute bags out there but there is something so romantic about toting a vintage piece, don't you agree? Just wondering the story behind it is enough in and of itself, but also the care and time put into the intricate detailing adds a charm that is so hard to find these days!

Have you decided on your overall look {or your handbag} for the evening? Please share!!

Etiquette: How to Address Your Invitations

We found out today that our previous etiquette post has been doing some serious floating around Pinterest! It was quite a pleasant surprise. Even still, we decided to give it a little face lift. ;)

The best places for an all you need to know approach to etiquette are the usual standbys- Emily Post and Martha Stewart. Even so, having the basics laid out like this can be really helpful.

Address to your heart's content!

Tuesday Shoesday

Today as I'm pretending it's not freezing and snow-covered outside, the Paper Moss office is swooning over this gorgeous shot of silver sling backs and a sapphire engagement ring. What a stunning photo to capture this brides day!

Did you get a photo of your wedding shoes? If you're in the midst of wedding planning, be sure and add that to the shoot list for your photographer!!

For Him: A Gift Guide

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Another Monday in December, another gift guide here! This one was definitely discussed in the office- boys are harder to buy for! At least I think so- there just seems to be less out there, and the really cool things (like a leather flask or new wallet) are just so pricey! We have put together a little guide for the men in your life that is affordable and still something he will love. And you will too! ;)

Made for plaid

HAPPY FRIDAY! What do you have planned this weekend? This week with the freezing weather, I've been reminded that it indeed is the time of year to cozy up in a blanket (preferably a fashionable plaid one OR a faux fur one like mine from Pottery Barn) and sip on cocoa. This is what chilly autumn days are made of, friends! Whatever you end up doing these next few days, we hope you make time for a little coziness… or at the VERY least, a little plaid! Oh and if you're in the mood for cocoa, give this recipe a try.
