A cross body bargain

When my mom was in town the other weekend, we caught up on some much needed mother- daughter time. Along with that comes some serious shopping! Though we didn't make too much of a dent, we did end up with matching cross body bags- in different colors of course. Who'd have thought these beautiful bags made by Fossil would work just as well with my style, as much as my mommas style? My favorite part is the gold chain accent!

A magical Tuscan rehearsal dinner

We caught wind from one of our beautiful brides that her wedding weekend was featured on Style Me Pretty's Little Black Book blog last week. We were lucky enough to work with Meghan {said bride} and the masterminds at Italia Celebrations on the paper goods for a jaw dropping rehearsal dinner. Seriously guys, this is what dreams are made of!!

And because we're total paper nerds, why resist showing some of our favorite bright & punchy details of the evening?! Check out these beautiful table signs- white ink on soft blue paper perfectly complimented the colorful florals!

Their creative use of colors and textures such as the ribbons & rock candy shown here, were just a few details that made us completely swoon!

And what party would be complete without drink stirrers to mark their signature cocktails?!

Rainy Day Style

'Tis a rainy morning in Boston and we're all suited up accordingly. I'm not sure about you but though spring just began, I'm already sick of my rain boots and umbrella selection. This adorable combo popping with patterns would be a refreshing way to welcome the drops, don't you think?

You can't go wrong with any of Joules' super cute rain boots! We just have to get through the next few weeks and then clear skys and ballet flats are in our future!!!

Rev up your Monday

There is no denying that Monday's can be pretty tough, no matter how much you love your job. Raise your hand if you're dragging a little extra today {our hands are up…} and if you're in that camp, take our advice to add some oomph to your day:

1. Run to the nearest market or flower shop and buy some pretty, sweet smelling blooms to brighten up your desk space!

2. On your way back, grab a little pick-me-up beverage! Green tea, juice or sparkling water will help you re-hydrate & give your body the boost you need. If possible, sip from a straw!

3. Turn up some tunes. We love Spotify {if you didn't notice} and their suggestions for new artists has breathed new life into countless days.

4. Do a mini office work out. Yea, you think we're crazy… and perhaps we are. :) But in all seriousness, go into a conference room to do some stretching, jumping jacks and {outfit permitting} some push-ups! Getting the blood flowing will change your mood and make you more productive.

From the Designer's Desk: White Space

Recently in the office, the Paper Moss team has been talking about white space. What every designer's heavenly dreams are made of. What is white space you ask? White space is what most people would call "empty space". It is allllll that white (or whatever color the "space" may be) surrounding your text and or images. Blank, empty, negative space that most people want to fill fill fill.

White space is intrinsic to good design. It is also what has been inspiring me, not just this week, but for a while now. As a designer, knowing how much or how little white space is crucial, for print design and even interior decorating. The space is used to separate disparate design elements and group similar ones together. In practical, every day use, white space is most obvious when you look at shelving displays or a bookshelf. It is the perfect "empty" space to separate small vignettes or books or drawings.

I am on a kick to redecorating my home for the summer, so I have been inspired by looking at these images of interiors :)

Honeymoon hotspot: Brazil

Admittedly, the first time I saw this picture of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, I sat wide eyed- jaw dropped. This place looks incredible. While I think visiting it alone & sliding down the white sandy mountains into the water would be enough to make a honeymoon completely glorious, I found a little gem of a resort a few hours away. Chili Beach looks every bit soothing and airy- a idyllic way to unwind after wedding planning insanity, don't you think?!

Onsite pools, nearby beaches, horseback riding, snorkeling and {of course} a stunning spa all lure me to add Brazil to my list of "must see" spots. And since I STILL can't get my mind off of Lençóis Maranhenses, here's one more photo to convince you of the fun you could be having...

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a lovely weekend, and that you're having an even LOVELIER start to your week. Today is a soggy, rainy day in Boston and we're cheering ourselves up with some pretty floral ideas to tie into the wedding day. Hearing about the details that our couples are planning is always so fun- there are endless ways to make the day unique!! Thank heavens, the weekend is here! I'm not going to hide it, I am SO EXCITED! My mom is visiting from Seattle for a few days and we're long overdue for some mother-daughter time. Cooking, shopping, pedicures, movies, eating out… yep, that's what my weekend will look like. :)

While we're still getting the occasional snow storm in Boston {what the heck?!} I've been dreaming of warmer destinations {obviously Phuket made quite an impression} and weekend getaways. Honeymoon Hotspot: Phuket

We were out to dinner the other night with some friends who were recalling their honeymoon to Thailand almost 5 years ago. I've now bumped into a handful of people who spent that special vacay in various cities & islands of Thailand and have heard nothing but raves.

My brother planned quite the exquisite getaway for his now wife, where they stayed at the JW Marriott in Phuket for a couple of weeks. Hearing from them first hand, this place blew their minds and has now found it's way to the top of our list of honeymoon hot spots!

White sandy beaches, Thai massages, delicious cuisine, a stunning spa… did I mention the baby elephants roaming the grounds?! To die for. Who wants to go?!?!

Good investing

If you haven't heard already, you ABSOLUTELY MUST get in the loop on the best investment for your feet: Tieks! These bright blue soles are the most comfortable ballet flat that your feet will ever meet. Made of soft leather {with vegan options available} these slipper- like- shoes are portable to pop in your work bag for the commute home, but stylish enough for everyday wear.

Smooth sailing

You've likely heard this quote before, but we love it! This week, we're kicking off our Monday with some sweet words of inspiration & encouragement. Facing challenges is the last thing we want to do, especially when life is already so busy & hectic. It's inevitable though! If you're walking through a tough time right now, take hope in remembering that even the hardest times refine us into stronger, more beautiful people. When you get to the other side, you'll have more wisdom, patience & compassion than you did at the start. Even if you're merely facing a busy work week, this applies to you too! Remember that pushing through will only refine you & make you a better person. :)

Ginger Peach Mimosa

Adding a little bit of bubbly makes any day feel a bit more like a celebration. Today's cause for celebration- it's FRIDAY! We felt inspired to try a new spin on an all-time have: the mimosa. The pairing of ginger & peach added a sweet & spicy sophistication!!

 You'll need:
- chilled peach nectar
- ginger liquor {we love Domaine De Canton}
- chilled brut champagne or Prosecco
- fancy glasses suited for sipping!

The how-to is NOT complicated, friends!! Measure 1oz {or to taste} of ginger liquor for just a kick of flavor- you don't want it to be too overpowering. Next fill the glass with 1/3 peach nectar and 2/3 bubbly!

Garnish with a peach slice and you're ready to toast the weekend!

Leave it up to Kate Spade to introduce her fun, kitschy twist on traditional wedding accessories. Not stopping at shoes & jewelry, her team of creatives has opened the door to some funky options for bridal clutches!! Have you seen the book clutches for instance? This Mr & Mrs license plate caused us a little chuckle too… would you consider it for your wedding look?

We at Paper Moss, are excited to change things up! Today we are bringing you a new perspective of inspiration and creativity from the desk of the Paper Moss Design Team.

Hi everyone! I am Caitlin, a designer at Paper Moss. This week's inspiration from my desk is all about Spring. I for one love all the seasons, but cannot wait for the sunshine to come out after this very cold New England winter. I have been dreaming of cute dresses, fresh flowers and lots of color!

Lisa Hedge'swork on these Save the Dates is exactly what I needed to stir my creativity. They are simple and yet vibrant and alive. Hedge, an art director at Partner's & Spade is genius. Her work can be seen in our everyday, like J. Crew's website and sketches, as well as everyone's favorite eyeglass frame company: Warby Parker's. Hedge created their print branding to sync with their business model and simple store fronts. Her simple elegance is what I want to help reign in this coming season, as I de-clutter my mind and my closets and welcome spring.

I am in love with the mixing of a floral pattern with a stripe or a plaid like this outfit from On the Rack's Laura Ellner. As a savvy fashionista and stylist, I will take her advice on dress pairings any day.

Inspiration is everywhere, and spring isn't spring without flowers and walking outside and hearing the birds chirp. But why not bring that all inside and surround ourselves with nature wherever we are? Rubi from She Lets Her Hair Downinspired me to do just that, as she created a wall paper of sorts in her home. Flowers do not just have to be in a vase or jar to make a room feel more organic and bright. This could be a great way to showcase a deconstructed bridal bouquet!

I hope spring decides to come earlier this year so I can continue to be inspired by the colors and fresh florals of the season. What inspires you this week as the weather changes and the air starts to get warmer?

Not just jeans

We've been long time lovers of Joe's Jeans- it's hard not to be a sucker for premium denim, especially when they fit like a dream! While on the search for some springtime looks, we noticed these adorable suede heels by Joe's, paired with some cuffed denim and a blouse. A perfect pair for warmer weather, don't you think?!

Pure Bliss

Just the other week the ladies of Paper Moss had the chance to get fancy and celebrate the release of the latest issue of Bliss Celebrations Magazine. Do they EVER know how to throw a release party! Take a peek at some of the pretty pages… and definitely peruse the whole issue {here} when you have time!

Gold is our favorite neutral color right now… and it's a perfect compliment to nearly every palette! We topped off Lyla & Max's soft gold letterpress suite {shown below} with tangerine painted edges for a sassy pop of color!

A pretty pink palette can create an ambience ranging from romantic to fun. Tyler & Tijana's tone-on-tone letterpress suite was inspired by Chanel and we combined both stripes, floral and unique frames to keep the eye moving throughout the suite.

From mint to emerald, we've had some fabulous green invitation suites these past few months! Katharine & Daniel's mint & gold letterpress invitation suite features playful chevron, cute icons and a fun monogram which was carried throughout their day of materials!

As if those color round ups aren't enough inspiration, we collaborated with Bliss Celebrations on this gorgeous, rustic Alpine Woods inspiration shoot! Though we're heading into spring at this point, the rich colors and cozy textures have our minds already spinning with ideas for next winter and fall!

A little slice of heaven

This afternoon, I'm super excited to be taking off for some much needed R&R with my man. We're headed to one of my favorite places in the world, the Ocean House, to celebrate 6 months of being married. What makes it even more special is that this time last year, he was plotting & planning to propose to me at that very spot. :) If you've been following our blog for awhile, you'll know that we're utterly obsessed with this stunning yellow mansion on the coast of Rhode Island. It's remote, romantic and exudes luxury in every way.

I doubt it will be warm enough to spend any amount of time "hanging out" on the beach, but we're definitely going to bundle up and walk to the spot where he popped the question!
